Can you still deposit a check if you accidentally rip the top of the check? I ripped the address part.

I'm not sure but I would imagine that the address part would be the least important part of the check. My bank told me I could still use my old checks after I moved & updated my address with my bank. It did not matter if my checks still had my old address. I have 3 ideas for you

~Bring the check to your bank & try doing something with it. Maybe it might would take an extra day or so to process thou.

~Asking someone at your bank like calling or online or something.

~Asking the person or place who gave you the check to send you a new one. They would void the current one.

If it were me I would try bringing the check to the bank or at least asking the bank instead of just accepting it as a loss. It could potentially be a hassle but I wouldn't know till trying.

The numbers at the bottom are the most important part. If you have the ripped piece, bring it with you.
