Can you tell when you get hit on?

I think I just got hit on. My husband tells me I miss these cues so that is why he trusts me knowing I won't cheat on him. But I just got better at it now.

But when I got off work and was heading to my commute stop, a car honks and waves at me to come here. Thinking I must know him or he needing directions, I go over to him.

He asks me how I am doing and I said I am doing good. He complimented on my ear muffs and told me his mom had always told him if he sees something he likes someone has, always say something good about it. I thought this was strange and I figured he must be special needs, maybe on the spectrum. He introduced himself and shook my hand and then asked for my name. Next thing I knew, he said he needed directions and I asked him where he needed to go. He said "with you?"

I told him I was getting on the train to head home. He took it well and said "it was nice meeting you" and drove off. He also waved bye and told me have a nice night.

Now looking back, I wonder if he was wanting me to get in the car with him so he could take me home. I was thinking then if he was going to leave his car there and come on the train with me. But after thinking about it, I think he wanted me to get in his car because this makes more logical sense and I can guess I got hit on.

I think the man sounded like special needs, perhaps lost but also horny.

I'm usually oblivious to it. In the past, when I had someone with me, sometimes they'd later bring it up (someone being flirtatious) and it would baffle me.

In the situation you described, I'm quickly put-off by overly friendly or pushy people, so I would have gotten annoyed when they didn't immediately state their purpose, and been brisk with them before walking away. But I think if they'd gotten to that last line about the ' directions to going with me', that probably would have tipped me off. Though that seems to set off more predatory warning signs than flirty ones, so maybe that's why (I trend towards caution).

I'm oblivious to being hit on/ flirting. I have no idea at all.

Either I’m completely oblivious, or (more likely, I think), I just don’t get hit on, so I wouldn’t know if I can tell or not.

You should have answered him, 'I can give you directions to hell'.

I think him saying he needed directions with me was a dead giveaway.

I'm a guy so I don't really get hit on. But my friends have had to point it out to me when a girl is showing interest.
