If your chair is smelling, you put febreze one for fabric on it, how do dry it if you put too much or it a little bit cool day & it won’t dry.

use a separate pillow or piece of rug on it and just change it with another when it needs washed.

The best thing to do is to take the chair to the dry cleaner. I think that your efforts will be in vain and the smell will still remain as it was before.

Or buy a new office chair here. I think it would be a great option for you.

You can also buy a small hand held furniture shampooer. It can be used on couches, chairs etc and even in your car. They are really nice if you're a clean freak like me

If you go the new chair route, Staples has a decent, firm fabric chair on sale for $80 called Brookmere. I work for one of the Staples stores out there, and can tell you that the frame is solid and the material is similar to a futon.
But, for getting a smell out of a chair, it can be tricky. Depending on the chair there might be a zipper to remove the fabric to watch, but, most likely, getting the chair wet and soaking up the moisture with towels might help. Never had to try it before, but it's the best I can think of. I'm sorry if you try this and it doesn't work.

That is a good idea and a practical way to solve the problem.

I could do with cleaning the chairs in my car because they are bright blue which makes marks and dirt visible.
