I wanted a skateboard when I was a kid cuz skateboarding was kinda popular within the punk culture during the 90s. My parents gave me one(maybe for my birthday or Christmas) but I didn't have a clue what I was doing & the only place I really had to skateboard was our driveway so I lost that interest very fast. I don't think my parents paid much for the board at least. I cant skate either thou & I could barely even walk without falling in skates. I had/have various motor skills issues so that could of been a majorly limiting factor. Perhaps if I would of had a good teacher & a decent place to practice skateboarding or skating I might could of improved my motor-skills some.

I tried to skateboard multiple times as a kid and could never balance on the board properly. The main use skateboards got from me was sitting on them and then using them to go down hills. lol

I had a toy when I was little that I could lay my stomach on & push myself forward with my feet/legs maybe called a roller-racer(I'm guessing on name). I really liked that toy & I imagine it would be very fun to ride down hills(my area didn't really have hills).

We had things similar to what that sounds like in gym class in elementary school, but we weren't allowed to ride them on our stomachs because too many kids got hurt ramming into each other and rolling over their hands. lol

That's almost exactly my story. Although I was into 90s punk as a teenager it was watcing the "Back To The Future" films a few years earlier that set me off wanting one (got one off Santa for Christmas). Bought a better board later and was still hopeless. Now I'm married to a bloke who is reasonably good and he's got one of those long cruising type boards and I've actually been able to use that one which is great! He's got an electric one too that I'm too scared to have a go on

I would practice it.
Yet never had it.

And never talked, almost never watched nor read much about it.

I tried to skateboard as a kid, and I did okay as far as just moving around on it. I could go in a straight line and turn alright, but I never could get the hang of doing an ollie, so that sort of stopped my progress there. I was always thwarted by curbs

I could do it. I've always been quite good on anything with wheels. Bmx, mountain biking, roller skates and skateboarding.

I have very little interest in it these days though.

I got a pink and purple skateboard when I was about eight. I didn't use it much because it was so pretty I didn't want to get it dirty (lol). My nephew is a really good skateboarder who does tricks and goes in those ramp things. I used to love watching him skateboard with his friends.

Like babybird, I've always been into wheels. I also loved rollerskating, mountain biking, and cycling.
Even driving a car makes me happy.

I liked skateboarding as a teenager on the viaduct in the sunshine smoking cannabis cigarettes with the hippies - that was a lot of fun but I had a preference for observing - I was clumsy as child and teenager though - had poor coordination so fell of the skateboard a few times - still a lot of fun.

Yes I have been interested in Skateboarding - is a lot of fun too do in the sunshine. That reminds me after university I am making skateboarding films with some old friends.

I can't skateboard. If I got on a skateboard I would fall down and injure myself. So I have never gotten on one.

There's a great difference between pre-1976 skateboards and skateboards from 1976 and beyond.

It's because of the urethane wheels. The urethane wheels started the skateboard craze.

Previously, skateboard wheels were made of metal.

I'm interested in watching skaters perform tricks at the park while I'm working on my art.
