People who are not passionate about anything or anyone exist without living.

Therefore they are not interesting to listen to for anyone who does have passions.

People who are passionate about things would rather listen to discussion of things. People who are passionate about ideas would rather listen to discussion of ideas. People who are deeply in love will be longing for their sweetheart to return while some idiot prattles on about this and that to pass the time, caring nothing for any of it. People who are immensely passionate about being a family person? Longing for their children or parents.

Doesn't matter what the subject is. Doesn't even matter if the subject is a hobby, an idea or people.

That is why 'talk about the weather is boring' isn't actually true.

Talk about something someone doesn't care about is boring. Get a meteorologist onto the weather, or heck someone who survived a hurricane, and all of a sudden, weather becomes interesting.

I implore you to give a s**t about things in your life. Unless you believe in reincarnation, this life is the only life you will get on earth. If you do believe in reincarnation? It's the only one you will remember because forms of Buddhism say the mind gets basically wiped after death.

BTW this is commonly known about in art and writing. You are told to write the book you long to read. Same standard needs to start being held to in conversations: at least amuse yourself.

Well, I've lost my passion for living but that doesn't mean I'm not interested in anything.
I show interest in conversations and ideas, because I find people fascinating.
I do all my little interests and hobbies but everything is meaningless, just a distraction.
I feel like I'm counting the days until death and oblivion.

How can the passion be revived?

Through not believing in every BS theory proposed on the Internet.

Use common sense instead of being “woke” all the time.

Be careful what you wish for.

There exists people whose passion involves killing someone else's passions, or to turn it against another.

My passion happens to be an ironic twist of special dislike-interest about humans and humanity.

I don't like humans and humanity -- along with being and having one.
Yet I believe in it and having this strong fascinations about it.
Whenever it comes up, I'm doing my best to be as detached as possible about it.

Everyone needs to find passion in life.

Or go back to basics, enjoy the simple things in life, the outdoors, hobbies. Being thankful

Hobbies can/should be passions.

The outdoors can be a passion.

Falling in love with someone else can be a passion

Not one I want except from a distance but the hobby one is.

And dark passions? I guess they make life exciting too. Although I wish they weren't things that happened irl. They're anti-passions that you live to see destroyed

I know having idols is often looked down upon, but I do look up to certain artists for their art and how they perform. Mainly because I find it inspiring and it captures my interest. It is mildly disappointing when I want to talk about an interest, but it's only for a minor thing and I know that the person I'm talking to won't be interested to hear about it. Such as wanting to discuss how perfectly timed an edit was in terms of sound composition lining up correctly, unless the person is interested in film then chances are I'd just be boring them.

The other side to this is dealing with gatekeepers who insist you aren't really interested in a certain topic unless you know particular information. I much prefer people who, when discovering you don't know a particular piece of information, they'll introduce to it without any judgement and offer recommendations.

When I talk about how much it annoys me when movie adaptions stray completely from the source material, sometimes people don't get it or think I'm making something out of nothing. However, I am often disappointed when I like a book series and it is altered for the big screen only to become completely terrible and not at all like the actual story. It comes across as a massive disservice and I feel bad for the author. Especially when it misses the entire point.

Sometimes this gains the response of "So what? Go watch another movie, it doesn't matter".

... However, I know I'd be absolutely crushed if I worked on a story, only for some movie producer to go run off with it and completely change everything. What was the point? Solely money because you know the fans will still watch it regardless of how much you absolutely destroyed anything resembling a good plotline? Why didn't you put some actual effort into it? You had the foundations! Even on a lacking budget you'd be surprised what you can make. Directors and screenwriters who think they know better than the original writer (there are a few exceptions where the original wasn't great to begin with, but this is less common) will forever annoy me, especially when they make a character bland because they think the character isn't relatable or marketable enough. There's clearly already a market for this character, based on the book sales. I know certain concepts don't translate well to the screen, but there are ways to work around that and tweak things whilst still sticking to the plot and theme of the story. Not marketable enough? Get a better marketing team. There's clearly potential, if not - why did you pick it up in the first place?
