Which phone to get and why?

Current phone: iPhone6. I've had it for a few years and it's been repaired a couple times. It's crapping out now and needs to be replaced. I had an iPhone 4S or two before a couple of 6's.

I've never had a Samsung phone or a Google phone. I did have an android phone once, an LG I think. It functioned but was super basic and kinda sucked.

Uses: Text, browser, email, Facecrack, a few chat apps, snapping photos of Wreck Beach sunsets to post to Facecrack, calendar events - used to iCal, but my friends use and share google calendars.

The super cheap hp netbook I bought is a chromebook. So maybe some google or android os phone would pair with it ? Not that that's a requirement; I currently use my iPhone independently of any computer.

Preferably under $30/mo - I don't NEED a bigger better fancier latest and greatest smartphone for literally anything I do in life or work. I don't play video games or do video editing etc.

The latest iPhone SE for $15/mo is a contender.. several family members have them. Smaller screen, but it'd be familiar to use. Not that I can't learn the basics of a different OS, though.

Are there others from this list I should consider instead? If so, which one(s) and why?
