Trump scheduled an 11 a.m. news conference Wednesday. The announcement was first reported by Axios.

Well, at least the lawyers will make a ton of money. Eventually people will realize that our Constitutional Rights does not apply to private companies.

But we simply cannot allow ignorant, insurrectionist, narcissistic, racist, and sexist losers to be banned from the privately-owned social platforms they abuse.

Shortly after the press conference wrapped, Trump’s political entities started sending out fundraising messages that touted the lawsuits in their appeals for money.

The three related lawsuits, filed in federal court in Florida, allege the tech giants have violated plaintiffs’ First Amendments rights.

The suits want the court to order the media companies to let Trump back on their platforms. They also want the court to declare that Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, a piece of legislation that stops tech companies from being held liable for what users post on their platforms, is unconstitutional.

As president, Trump railed against Section 230 and repeatedly called for its repeal. He even tied the issue to a crucial round of stimulus checks at the height of the coronavirus pandemic.

“We’re not looking to settle,” Trump told reporters when asked about the lawsuits. “We don’t know what’s going to happen but we’re not looking to settle,” he said.

I am hoping these suits are just as unsuccessful as the suits against the legitimacy of the election.

Might this be an oversight on the part of the Constitution? Why do we want free speech in the first place?

Free speech laws protect you from government censorship. Are you saying that you now want government controlling the speech of private companies and citizens?

That's it, if he wins I'm suing WP so the ToS I agreed to will no longer apply to me because I'm entitled to special treatment. Following the rules like everyone else is for suckers, losers and plebs and not for a tremendous winner like me. 8)

It's not that the government is controlling the speech of private companies, it's that the private companies are owned and operated by the the same corporate donors that run the government and all the media.

This could potentially turn into a real circus----especially if Giuliani is his counsel.

Rudy Giuliani has been barred from practicing law in New York, so no such luck.

Why is that important in the first place? Make the argument from first principles. Why do we want free speech? Why is it good? If we do want free speech, should a few tech companies really have the power that they currently have? - A power to censor far greater than anything that could ever have been envisioned by the writers of the First Amendment.
