I'm new to this forum, so I'm sure this topic has probably been discussed before, but are there any characters in TV and film we can claim as our own? My nominations are as follows:

1. Alan Partridge - I love I'm Alan Partridge, and in my view it's the funniest sitcom of all time. I also love Alan, although in many ways he's deeply unlovable. I guess one of the reasons I'm so fond of him is that he completely misreads every social situation he's in and ends up humiliating himself in spectacular fashion. I can relate.

2. Chloe out of 24 - She's got to be AS. She's hopeless with people and her "special interest" is helping Jack Bauer save LA yet again. She's also quite attractive in a nerdy way.

3. Monk - I know he's OCD, but he's clearly AS as well. And the fact that he needs cue cards to help him socially interact is something I've thought about doing.

4. The Terminator - He never smiles, says little, and harbours psychopathic urges - Surely an Aspie?

5. Chewbacca - This guy has very poor social skills and makes ridiculous noises. I too make ridiculous noises when people surprise me by speaking to me.

1. Squiduard (from Spongebob Squarepants)-obsessed with his clarinette, works the cash register @ the Crusty Crab, wants nothing to do with customer interaction

2. Dwight (from The Office)- blurts inappropriate comments causing camera to close-up on the stunned looks from co-workers, obsesses over tiny details & irrellevent facts, possesses an all-around nerd "look"

3. Shrek

Lol. Well The Terminator is a machine and Chewie is another species of biped. I´m pretty sure their different because they´re not human at all. But I get what you mean though. When I was young I used to pretend I was the terminator sometimes. It was fun (no I didn´t go around assasinating the Connors).

Don´t forget that guy from Boston Legal. I´m not sure how accurately his character´s Asperger´s is scripted but they make enough references to it to remind the viewers.
