Even if you prefer a search engine besides google, you learn a lot about S E O by using google.

For example, try to learn about any drug, and instead of Articles you get ads for rehab.

It does that crap all the time, google is so corrupt, but so incredibly useful if you just check facts.

Wiki is corrupt too, but still tha bomb, kind of dumb I havent downloaded it yet.

Yeah, I barely use general search for looking up anything health/fitness related. Either use scholar.google.com or limit search to pubmed/pubchem, etc. I'm so used to this bubble, sometimes it's really shocking what kind of BS my friends and family stumble upon when they click some of the top links/ads when I recommend them something. And lately I switched to duckduckgo as my default search engine as google got too smart with geotargeting, guesses and correcting my requests, my usual keyword kung fu doesn't work the way I expect more often than not.

Frankly search engines are nothing like they used to be 25 years ago. Back then you could refine your search using + and - terms. For example, if you wanted to look up things about eagles but ignore any results about the Philadelphia Eagles you could type "eagles -philadelphia". Now search engines kind of suck. And darn right they have people who curate search results. Google especially lied when they said they didn't, then they said well sometimes they do. Baloney. Try 95% or more of the time. Bing is no better but then I refuse to use anything Google except Gmail.
