How can I stop working shifts and start earning a salary?

By getting away from working at something like retail, and work as a clerk in an office instead.

Get more job skills, a better personality, and better luck, more efficient

I've always regretted being on salary instead of hourly pay. They expect you to be at their beckon call and work ridiculous hours

Salaries can be a trap. They can raise your hours as high as they want knowing you're on a fixed salary, which may equate to less per hour than the employees who are paid hourly.

In some jobs, being "promoted to manager" is a scam.

Update your present skills and seek a higher/stable position OR
Target a sector with good long term employment prospects and work on developing new skills
