My stims are mostly physical and moving and I also have echolalia, verbal and vocal and auditory stimming.

best for me is walking as much as possible, calms anxiety, gives visual input as well as physical. I also love reading (keeps the running dialogue in my head at bay) and I love listening to my favorite music.

Mostly movement, I'm not very good at sitting still. If I'm not moving my legs sometimes I pick at my knuckles (with a finger horizontal, pull the skin on my knuckle up, then press the skin back down again...repeat over and over). In private I will rock whilst listening to music.

I sway and rock a lot, and like to chew on things. I also repeat the noises animals make, exactly how they made the noise and right after they did it, which is almost compulsive. lol

I also auditory stim with music and sound effects from video games.

I have a rocking chair in three rooms and constantly rock. I always had a rocking chair ever since I can remember, I need to rock. I also rub any rough part of my knuckles on my lip.

Pacing - this is my go-to when I'm upset.
Twisting a chunky ring I wear
Running my fingers along my chin
Pointing and flexing my feet

Rubbing my feet together, I do this most every night before sleeping.

Rubbing soft fabric between my fingers (has to be the right texture).

Rubbing my hands or fingers together (easier to get away with in public).

I don't have too many stims that I do naturally. I have "learned" plenty of stims that I do when I feel like I need to. I used to twirl my hair nonstop in preschool, even during my sleep. After that, I guess I stopped stimming for a while when my mom told me to stop and the teachers looked at me weird. One of my only stims is very gross and against the rules to discuss here so I won't say it, lol. When I look at my special interests, or I'm having a successful conversation over text, I will jump up and walk around my room and flap my hands (learned this one too). I used to try to hold myself down and make myself look at the exciting content, but now I let myself get up and stim if I'm super happy. Vehicles moving fast do this, too, especially if it's a ship or boat. It's hard to contain myself when I see them, especially in real life!

Rowing machine for me. I didn't realise it until recently but it's a rocking back and forth motion and I just find it soothing.

Biting nails and biting the skin around them.. god damn that s**t is so satisfying it's like scratching an itch, have quit many times but always come back, found nothing that compares. Has anyone successfully replaced this with something less destructive?

Throat clearing
Tapping hands and feet
Rubbing my hands together between my legs.
Small noises (they seem to rotate between rolling my tongue and cat noises wtf?)
Making beats with my voice and tapping my hands along to them.
Pacing when unable to regulate

So many. Too many to list.

My raised foot when sitting with legs crossed is often immitating the end of a cat's tail, the way cats move their tales when distracted, anxious, thinking, working up to the point of chastising their human stim toy if the fuss is not to their liking

I have a constant need to work on something in order to keep my hands busy. I guess that could be a stim.
