If you want to see what I dislike - just google "just beautiful woman" and open Pinterest site (I am not allowed to post links). There you won't see a single even slightly attractive woman for me.
And what I like is this:
The main similarity I am seeing here (on average in these pictures) is a rounded face and fuller cheeks. The jawline is not as defined in favour of rounder softer features. I would not consider this to be a weird taste in appearance. However, I think I know what you are picking up on. Models are often chosen to have particular features, especially in the case of makeup companies. For example, advertisements selling contour tend to prefer using models who have more angular faces since the point of contour is to make the edges (or any other features someone wants to draw attention to) of the face more defined / pronounced. So using someone with a more pointed face is a good way of exaggerating the effects or bringing attention to the contour. Especially when using angled lighting. However, this is not always the case as sometimes more rounded faces are used, but it is something I have noticed*.
On a similar note, rounder faces are typically preferred when selling blush since the cheeks are more pronounced, so the blush stands out a bit more on photos. Beauty standards vary around the world. I suspect that where you live, or where the people you've asked about this live, tend to have a preference for higher defined cheekbones with flatter cheeks and stronger jawlines on more angular faces.
*Please note, I am not an expert on makeup. I only wear nail polish and I am solely basing this on what I've learnt about portrait photography.
