I am glad that the court system is doing better at recognizing the value of fathers, and do agree there is further to go.
Every family situation is unique, and I know some pretty amazing families that have been made without a male presence. Sometimes there really isn't a viable alternate choice, and those families should never be made to feel less than.
It isn't a zero sum game; we can give fathers a valuable place in the lives of their children without diminishing the way we value families that are created differently.
