I don't know whether this is a 'thing' and I thought up something other people are already doing but...
Here's how you play: Start with an 'A' or an 'I' because those are the only one-letter words. Then add a letter to create a new word. Each time you add a letter, it must form a new word. Below, I'll give an example:

a
ad
bad
brad
braid
braids

Okay, not my best work, but I'm up to a six-letter word. I'm pretty sure I've hit at least eight-letter words - actually, I know I've hit eight-letters many times I just can't recall if I've ever been beyond that right now. Anyway, have fun. :)
