I was in that neighbourhood last night so walked down to the beach to check out the barge for myself - a container barge washed up during a major storm last month and so far they haven't been able to move it.. so, it's just a thing people go to the beach to check out.

Here's one of the pics I snapped:

I'd seen a Vancouver Parks Board tweet/screenshot meme saying they put up a sign in the fashion of "Dude Chilling Park," (there's a real park here with that sign someone made to match the real ones so it just stayed.) Then there was a headline saying that yes, the "Barge Chilling Beach," sign was real. We took a bit of a walk either direction looking for it last night but didn't spot it in the dark and the security guard keeping barge watch didn't have any idea about it.

But apparently it's there and looks like this:

At least everyone's having a bit of fun with this. 8) Except for maybe the guy who owns that barge.. bet he's pissed at the unknown amount of money this is going to cost him. 8-O

I know - super cool, right?? 8)

It’s one of a handful of pics I snapped last night. The light on the right side of the pic is coming from a security guard SUV’s headlights that’s parked on the sea wall. I made sure to have it just out of frame & the light refraction capture turned out pretty neat.

Also, there’s this story - kinda funny:

The sedative wore off as we approached the Citadel -- the place where they take dissidents just before they disappear.  My last memory of ruined Earth was to be the sight of this place, just before another needle stung my arm and warm oblivion enveloped me.

It was mid-day.

They’ve tried freeing the thing at high tide and can’t get it to budge At All so now it’s been decided that they’re going to cut it up and recycle it as scrap metal!

Crazy. That thing had to cost Millions of dollars. Whoever owns it is going to have to pay to cut it up and scrap it, too. Or sell it off super cheap to some salvage company that’s going to do the work and make a couple bucks from the metal.. which will, ironically, likely be loaded on another barge and shipped off somewhere overseas to be melted down and turned into another barge or a cars or refrigerators or whatever.

Actually, maybe not everyone,
