When I was diagnosed at the age of 13, my mom went crazy.
She has been in denial ever since.
@ OP: Remember that being on the spectrum is a part of your human essence.

If my own dad got through his treatments without any problems, I believe he would also
have been supportive. Even though he was certainly not on the spectrum, he would
taken plenty of time to understand the spectrum and what it meant for me.
He passed the day after I turned 12.
