For the past month, my blood pressure has been extremely high (as in stroke-levels high). I have gone to my primary care physician, and she referred me to a cardiologist and a pulmonologist. I've seen the cardiologist, who has ordered a stress test and an echo doppler to check on my heart's condition. I have scheduled both for the fourth of next month. In addition, I'll be going to the pulmonologist on the 15th of next month.

I have applied for medical leave from my job. It begins February 28 and ends March 28.

I take 10 mg of amlodipine in the morning and 5 mg of the same at night. I have been avoiding sodas and energy drinks (for the most part), as well as cutting back on my sodium intake.

Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this? If so, what eventually helped?

It sounds like your medical staff is steering you in the right direction. And it sound like you are taking appropriate step to reduce your high blood pressure levels.
