Why can't humans learn to put themselves in animals shoes? I can't cope with it.

I heard that the animals you buy from the pet stores were born in horrific conditions, with poor mothers that are kept in tiny cages and forced to breed, then when they've done breeding a few times they're fed to snakes, hopefully not alive! I don't like it. People shouldn't be allowed to do this. It is not humane. They should have the breeding farms be more friendly to the animals. Like when they're done breeding, keep them there but in a large enclosure and make sure they're loved and well-fed so that they can live a quality life. The workers there should be paid to look after the animals with love and care, like we do with humans in schools and nursing homes and hospitals, etc. It should be law. No animal should be treated like they do in these breeding farms. I understand it's business but business can still thrive without the animals living in misery and being fed to snakes.

I can't stand it. I hate society. How do humans have the heart to do this? How do we sleep at night? Why do animals have to come second? Why do humans have to dominate the whole planet for?

I feel the same way. All my life I was told it's because God made humans superior somehow. I never believed it and just stopped hanging around other Christians and am warry of them.

I agree, OP.
I have decided that the only thing to do about it is to make sure I do not participate in or support cruelty:
Vegan
Only use cruelty-free makeup and cleaning products
No leather, silk or fur unless 2nd hand
Don't purchase animals from breeders
etc...
If enough people would refuse to participate in cruelty, the world would be a much better place.

When we have enough material conditions, it will gradually improve.
Until then, meet the requirements of our own species. Just as is usually required to meet the requirements of our own citizens first.

But it is not optimistic that no matter how high the material conditions are, it is unavoidable that a few people abuse animals for profit or pleasure. Just as there are a few people who abuse other humans for profit or pleasure.

I regularly sign petitions against animal cruelty and some of the photos I will never be able to get out of my head.
Humans can be really sick bastards.

I totally agree. I try not to buy my pet supplies from Pets at Home because I don't think they should sell animals and I'm against breeding for profit. I accept that accidental litters do happen, long story short, that's how I ended up with 2 rabbits.

You could follow some animal sanctuarys online and see how people do help animals and treat them well.

Juniper fox is a good Instagram and YouTube account. She looks after all sorts of exotics.

Bunny jackpot foundation in Bath is also good. She takes in disabled rabbits and gives them the best life she can for their short little lives.

Mr Roger's Mum told him when he saw bad news to look for the helpers. There are always people who help.

What about bunny is an amazing channel. It's a dog who uses buttons to "communicate" with her human.

Maybe it's because I'm not NT, but as a Christian I always took that to mean we're meant to take care of the animals because they're not as capable as us in certain ways. People are so selfish.

Quote:
Proverbs 12:10, NLT: The godly care for their animals, but the wicked are always cruel.

No argument from me.

As an individual, I am a filth of my bedroom.

It's not exclusively a human trait, rather humans should know better as we have the intellectual and emotional capacity to cast aside cruelty. Humans don't really treat other humans all that well (see: state sanctioned stuff like war that can reveal the true nature of it all), so yeah. You see the "cruelty" of nature all the same when you live amongst it.

I'm overly sensitive, which probably has its own name nowadays, "Highly Sensitive Person" or something (no one will really know that one other than those that have lived with me), so I have to detach myself from many things.

I wish I could be.
I can't eat much as it is because I have histamine intolerance.
