I’ve also felt that way.
Maybe it’s just there is nothing left to say.

Group thinking. Happens in the autism community too, believe it or not. You add a reply then everyone else suddenly grows bored with the thread and then it dies. Can be frustrating sometimes but I suppose somebody's got to be the last one to post unless a thread is going to go on forever. But I understand how frustrating it feels when your posts frequently seem to be the last.

I feel like in some cases that just means no one can add to or challenge what was said, so it's might not mean anything negative.

I don't know if I kill threads but when I start a thread it usually doesn't get much traction.

Often I post something - expecting the thread to continue. And to my surprise its my post that becomes the last post. Could be a coincidence. The thread wouldve died anyway. Or I could have killed it. Couldve killed it in either a good way (what I said summed it all up, and tied it up in a ribbon so there taint nothing more to be said on the topic), or it could be somehow a bad thing- that I commit toxic threadacide. But the "thread woulda died anyway" theory is the most likely because -as with you- the least ego centric explanation is the most likely. You cant assume that you're so important that everyone is going to react (either positively, or negatively) in unison to something that you do.

The last person to post to this thread is the true thread killer.

If were gonna kill this thread then...lets try to kill it...with style!

You could kill it with hard style:
