I don’t need to know

The Screams of a Madman


stare at the screams
in the eyes of a madman
the pain and confusion
the lack of hope that he bears
wrinkled, tense, twitchy-eyed fellow
imagine the places he’s been
then try to ask him what he knows of sin

he plays with his pockets
to keep himself still
and despite all the horror
can still smile at will
he talks to himself
now staring at the ground
muttering
under his breath
barely making a sound

and over and over he says
“The color of the city has a pretty voice.
It always seems to stop when the sun comes up.”

Everybody Wants

If everybody wants
And everybody gets
Then everybody loses
There’s enough to go around
If everybody wants just enough
It’s not about the war,
Not about your race, or religion
But I want you to know
That we can keep living lies
Oh no, we can’t keep living blind

Because the air that we breathe
Is not going to save us
As our children bleed
There’ll be no god at all
How can this be
Doesn’t anybody out there
See what I see
That it’s all about to fall

There should be a way
To gather all the men
And excorcise their demons
Because everybody hates
And everybody lies
And it’s just not right
It’s like nobody cares
Or they’re not aware
That there’s a future
And I want you to know
That we can’t keep living lies
Oh no, we can’t keep living blind

But you seem to come up with good lyrics .. kinda meaningful.
