Do you know, I was just thinking that myself. So much American s**t about Trump and Biden that they just argue about all the time. I've seen better contents in the toilet than I have in news and current or PPR.

Our royals are special, especially the Queen. We should make ourselves heard as British people. Sometimes I wish WP was dominated by British.

I went to a party yesterday, well it was a family get-together, with relatives I haven't seen for a few years, and I got to see my little nieces and nephews. Everywhere was decorated with union jack flags and it was a very patriotic atmosphere.

Probably because no one feels strongly about it one way or the other. They are not opposed to the celebration, but they arent excited about it either. And for that reason you cant pick fights about it. Lol! Whats the fun if you cant bicker about it?

The weather in Australia inspired more verbiage among Aussies on this site than the Platinum Jubilee gets from Brits, and Brits are a bigger population on WP than are Australians. Thats because the weather is highly politicized down under apparently! Lol!

British person here. Not really that interested myself. Go ahead, but not all us English folk care one way or the other.

I saw a video of the planes fly over in a perfect 70 formation which was quite impressive.

Do the English even give a s**t about the royals? I just see everyone online talk about how much they despise them.

I honestly wouldn't care about a bunch of rich, inbred monarchs with no current actual political power if the U.S. had people like that, and I sure don't care about another countries rich, inbred monarchs who have no political power, either.

Australia is stuck with them and I hate that. I wish we were sensible enough to get rid of them.

I've been celebrating with the Sex Pistols God Save the Queen on repeat in the last few days.

No, I do not give a s**t about the royals....they reinforce the class system

That's because they are jealous of how rich and privelleged they are. I think the monarchy and all that is rather interesting. And everybody I know has been tuning in to the jubilee celebrations and events on the TV. And there are thousands of people who attended the jubilee concert tonight. So many people do give a s**t about it.

Anything that happens in America is always posted and discussed everywhere. Thanksgiving, 4th of July, any elections, even the ex-president. Every year. All the time. America is in your face all the time. The jubilee means a lot to most NTs I know. Maybe it's mostly autistics that don't seem to care.

I will admit, I have watched The Crown on Netflix. I know it's fictionalised conversations based loosely on real events, but I did find it interesting.

I enjoyed the Kristen Stewart Spencer film. She's a better actress than I imagined.

It irritates me that they get typical holywood actresses to play Princess Diana. She had a vet horsey aristocratic look. It's like they Holywood-wash her.

I think most of us Brits think Americans are a bit over-the-top about everything. It's just not cricket

Guess the only legitimate way to answer that is to ask all the people who posted nothing about it why they posted nothing.

I don't have a TV and Twitter has just informed me I missed Jason Donovan live and the Royals were dancing in their seats. This is news I like.

Looking up on YouTube later...

this is news that isnt actually doom and gloom

i was dragged to a jubilee party last night where everyone was wearing union jack clothes and praising the queen

people DO care and i grew up in london but im not saying i love the royals or anything im just wandering why no mention of it here or anything

Seems like there's more activity on Facebook. I've just been tagged in some posts from my Mum's home town history group. It's photos and photos of jubilees throughout the years. I'm scrolling forever.

I would have posted something about the platty joobs but I've vowed not to start any new threads for a month at least because I keep regretting it whenever I start a new thread.
