Hair not growing at the same speed?

One of my female friends was saying to me last night how when she was 19 it would only take her about a month or 2 to grow her hair long after a haircut.

Now she’s 34 according to her it takes a lot lot longer to grow hair to a long length. She said it can take up to a year to get long hair.

I am no hair expert but do you think that’s unusual that her can’t grow at the same speed as it used to?

How are we supposed to know about your friends hair.

In general though and without consulting Google I don't think 34 years of age is particularly old enough for a woman's hair to take its time in growing unless there is a particular issue with a lack of vitamins and minerals.

I'm nearly 50 and mine grows at the same rate as it did when I was younger.

Human Hair grows at a rate of between .5 and 1 inch per month. There are factors, like health and nutrition that can affect it, but that is the general rate.
