The Original Star Wars Trilogy is one of my favorite film Franchises, they are just such groundbreaking films. A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back are 2 of the greatest films of all time. Return of the Jedi is not quite as good as the first 2 but It's still a worthy entry in the Series and a Pretty Satisfying conclusion. I love the action sequences, the storytelling, the visual effects, the world building, the acting to an extent, the characters, the Overall Tone, the dialog was a little clunky from time to time but it's not a huge issue. The Prequel Trilogy were good entries but flawed. The Good qualities of the Prequels outweigh the bad qualities. The Sequel Trilogy was just an utter Dumpster Fire. What are your opinions of Star Wars?

I love the originals, like the sequels, and hate the prequels. The acting in the prequels, especially the love scenes, were some of the worst I’ve EVER seen. Hallmark movies are masterpieces in comparison (as far as the acting is concerned); the bar is that low.

They were good for the laughs, though, and it took away from the awful plot and writing.

I've long lost interest in the series. Upon re-evaluation I realized the original three weren't any better than the prequels, so I had to reason to see the sequels. Things ending with Tsion sealed the deal that I'd be unlikely to ever invest the time to watch them.

Ben Shapiro just loves the long, boring senate scenes in the prequels.

I like Ben Shapiro even less then I like those scenes and the prequels in general.

A simple explanation is that Lucasfilm sold the franchise to Disney who proceeded to rip up canon and make the storyline more family friendly. Second Disney wanted to increase the market for Star wars beyond hardcore fans to include women, people of colour and the younger generation who did not grow up with the original movies, prequels or Clone wars. Combine that with the merchandising you can see Disney are largely driven by profits not the fans.

I'd consider myself a superfan (still am). But I focus on the writers/acting/films (not the merch or the opinions of other fans who tend to be twats).

I like the documentaries on youtube talking about how Industrial Light & Magic did the effects for the 1977 original.

I'd say episode 4 was my favourite film of all time. I dont really like ESB though. I think it drags and has a lot of scenes in cloud city where they wait behind a corner to ambush the stormtroopers who can't seem to hit them. The stormtroopers dont have an ulterior motive to miss like in ep.4 so it seems silly.
I like the hoth battle. Return of the Jedi is pretty decent.

Left the fandom when 2008 Clone Wars was released. The retcon of 2003 Clone Wars was too much. No regrets.

It was always a challenge to stick to Canon when you had 7 seasons of 19 x 30min animated series over a series of years between 2003-2020

Yes, this is an ongoing issue in the star wars universe regarding the clones. They were supposed to be exact replicates of the bounty hunter Jango Fett whoi was (my understanding) one of the best sharp shooters in the galaxy along with Cad Baine.

Nearly every episode of Star wars (whether movie, animated or TV series) fell into the same narrative that the clones somehow could miss a target barely a few metres away from them

Yeah it seems they turned it into a trope. In Obi-Wan there are about 100 troopers and they can barely hit 20 rebels from a few metres away
