"So now it comes out, conclusively, that the FBI BURIED THE HUNTER BIDEN LAPTOP STORY BEFORE THE ELECTION knowing that, if they didn’t, “Trump would have easily won the 2020 Presidential Election.” This is massive FRAUD & ELECTION INTERFERENCE at a level never seen before in our Country. REMEDY: Declare the rightful winner or, and this would be the minimal solution, declare the 2020 Election irreparably compromised and have a new Election, immediately!" Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

A topic about Trump demanding a new election or to be reinstated as president already exists.

Rather than remove this topic the title now reflects a different aspect of the issue:
Why would Trump be so concerned about Biden's laptop? What is there about it or on it that makes him use it as a weapon in his efforts to remain president? How were the FBI involved in burying the issue? Is that what was actually done or is it just Trump hyperbole? Does this whole laptop issue bear examination at all, or is it unsubstantiated noise? Are there any hard, reliable facts available addressing the content? Why would any of it matter, since Hunter Biden never sought office?

The reason why Trump brought up Hunter Biden's laptop is because he thinks if the FBI hadn't "buried the story" until after the 2020 election, he would have won the election. So since he considers what the FBI did to be a case of "massive FRAUD & ELECTION INTERFERENCE", Trump is demanding to be reinstated as president or for there to be a do over election.

This is the second time a losing candidate has blamed the FBI for throwing an election. The first time is when Hillary Clinton blamed the FBI for her loss in the 2016 election.

So what story did they allegedly bury - was it related to something on the laptop?

I think Clinton actually had a point - but then again so did Comey (IIRC) who said that he couldn't not release what he did.
How would it have looked if it was released after the election? You can see the Fox headlines: "FBI Involved In Election Fraud, Protecting Clinton!"

Ah - Sky, Fox and Jim Jordan. Unimpeachable sources there, for sure. :P

It will be interesting to see how those allegations and accusations pan out.

Nevertheless the FBI suppressing the Biden laptop scandal is why Donald Trump is demanding to be reinstated or for there to be a new election.

Would it have made a difference in the outcome of the 2020 election if the FBI had come forward regarding what they found on Biden's laptop when they could have? Perhaps yes.

Well, let's see what pans out from the resignation, allegations and accusations.
It seems like an old pot getting re-stirred, but time will tell.

Well possibly - but it's difficult to get a handle on exactly what it was that was so explosive and how it related to Joe Biden's election.
What "laptop scandal" was suppressed? That implies fore-knowledge and suppression after it was known, but I would have thought if it was something so obvious and so egregious it should have sunk his chances immediately.

AIUI evidence was found of some questionable dealings by Hunter Biden (and even those findings seem to be debatable) but nothing involving Joe Biden.
How unlike Trump and his spawn, where nepotism rules.

My mistake. I'm on my phone at work so this isn't easy. Timothy Thibault is the FBI agent in question regarding the Biden laptop issue.

Here's a Politico article if that's good enough:

Wray: Allegations ‘troubling’ about FBI agent covering up Hunter Biden information.

Timothy Thibault is accused of partisan social media activity and efforts to suppress information in the probe into the president's son’s business activities.

No problem - pbpBB in particular is practically impossible to use on a phone.

Hmm, FBI man says too much publically and shoots self in foot.
A standard cover-all:

Politico wrote:
However, the FBI director stressed that the actions Kennedy was describing were "not representative of the FBI."
But
Quote:
"You’re killing yourselves with this stuff,” Kennedy said. “And this investigation needs to be completed on this gentleman and the results need to be reported to the American people."
Yes indeed.

In the meantime, speculation reigns supreme - unfortunately amplified by an orange megaphone.

I'm going to probably use sources from time to time that don't cater to the liberal democrat crowd. I have no reason to consider them any less unimpeachable than CNN, MSNBC, The Daily Beast et al.

Fair enough.
It's largely a question of irritating slant and presentation, where some sources are positively fulminating in their commentary (Jim Jordan et al) while others just present what's happening and then maybe discuss it.

That's a two way street when it comes to media. And I'm sure there's probably a democrat equivalent to Jim Jordan who's comments are being issued by some other media source.
