I've had a few, from slamming my head in frustration as well as from a car accident, fights, misadventure and athletic endeavours.
They're cumulative, which might contribute to why the last one was so severe.
Bob Probert ended up with CTE from getting punched in the head repeatedly. He described having periods where he'd be staring off into space when he was trying to play with his daughter.
Dale Jr. has some lasting damage from multiple (>12, sometimes quoted as >20) concussions. He's written quite a bit on the topic.
The emotional and impulse control impacts aren't uncommon and they can be hard because it feels out of character, like you understand that's not how you normally would be. I don't really have any advice but I can relate, I don't think I'd have the same emotional and impulse control issues (at least not to the same extent) if I hadn't of gotten my bell rung so many times.
