Be honest, do you like romantic love?

Experienced, yes.

Portrayed, no (they always get it wrong).

@April I usually don't even like it on movies, just another reminder of what i'll never have. And I can't have it in real life either.

I'm too aromantic-spec for this.
Like, I have had feelings for exactly one person. Overall though romance makes no sense to me and I don't desire it.

I've been going back and forth on this one for a few months now. One the one hand, I'm terrified of romantic relationships. I have both commitment and trust issues, which are bad things in general, but worse when you add other people to the mix. Not to mention that I have serious doubts about my ability to be a decent partner to anyone, even if I deal with those trust /commitment issues. On the other hand, I think that the idea of being in an actual relationship with someone that I love, who loves me, that I'm sharing a life with...that sounds good. Then I start thinking on the loss of freedom, the overwhelm that people bring to the table (even people I really enjoy/value/care for), and so on and I go right back to thinking it's a bad idea to ever even try again. I dunno.

I love being in a romantic relationship & majorly HATED being single but I do NOT expect relationships to be like the Disney farytales & Hollywood movies. I don't get the chemestry thing & I don't like kissing. I care about long term substantive things like respect, trust, commitment, loyality, & being there for each other when one of us is having a difficult time.

I guess i just like it on a fictional scale. I like dramatic and sometimes tragic romance stories. I wouldn't want anything like that irl to be sure.

I find it massively inconvenient but it is nice.
I wouldn't ever wish it away, but I regret it.
Love is a responsibility.
It also means you can never truly be free.
