Of the 195 countries in the world, I have only been to 4 as a child (Australia, Spain (Menorca), Turkey, France) and 6 as an adult (Netherlands (Amsterdam), Belgium (Antwerp), Poland (Krakow), Italy (Rome), Germany (Berlin) and France again). My experience of going to those places left me wishing I could go back again and go to other places as well but I still find myself unable to get myself to book to go to somewhere and get a flight there perhaps on my own. Even though I drive, I have never driven myself out of my usual routes to Stansted, Heathrow or Gatwick airports. The only airport I've driven to was Southend-on-Sea Airport to drop my mum and her partner there to fly to Malta. Most of the places I've been to have been with family.

I can't understand how I am able to go out and do things on my own like going out shopping and buying my own things and going to and from Essex back to Kent by car and yet I won't drive down to London or other towns surrounding London, Kent or Essex or again getting myself on a flight somewhere on my own. I remember someone telling me that she flew to places on her own and it left her feeling like a different person but I still haven't followed her advice. Places in other countries look exciting but I don't know how I would cope on my own especially as people speak different languages and I mean have I got to be an expert of a language whenever I go to these places ? I only know some basic French and Italian. I still seem to feel as though there are other people who have been to more places than me perhaps even their own or with friends whereas have very few and seeing all their photos online and stuff leaves me feel like this is just another one of those things I feel like missing out on and wasting my life by not doing it.
