I was having a great time with my mates at the pub last night. However one guy said about me behind my back “He’s a jackass”.

I try to be as nice as I can be but do you think that is unfair thing to say? I know negative gossip can spread about people.

He might have been trying to elicit a negative reaction from you. Maybe he wanted a fight?

Did he look aggressive?

If one person calls you "Jackass", you can ignore it.

If two people call you "Jackass", you might want to check your behavior.

If three people call you "Jackass", get yourself measured for a harness and learn to walk on all fours.

Yeah he did look agressive at me and he said itwhile he was walking away from me. I lie to my friends about having a job.

He said it...as he was walking away?

Sounds like he ...sincerely wanted to get AWAY from you. So maybe ...you were being somewhat jackassey.

=========

What preceded him saying that? What was said and done that preceded him saying that?

Give us a context.

What does lying to your friends about having a job have to do with being called a jackass? I am not following your line of thought there. :huh:

The alcohol disengaged your brain from your mouth. And you said ..SOME thing that pissed him off. So he called you a "jackass" as he walked away.

You may have deserved the epithet. But being "tipsy" can bring out the 'jackass' in just about any of us. Lol!

Jackass is a pretty mild insult, it could be a lot worse.

The other day my husband was so annoyed with his brother (who did something really stupid) that he called him a w@nker in front of their dad.

If your friend called you a w@nker I think then you'd need to start worrying.
