What kind of new things have you recently done? New food, new job, ?

How well do you adapt to change?

Got a steak sandwich to-go for lunch at a local Sheetz that recently opened. Previously I've only been to Sheetz a few times on long car trips. It seemed OK. But I will have to experiment with my order at this local one to identify a few "usual" meals I like.

Unfortunately I had to get my bride to give me a ride there and back. Last month someone sideswiped my car and the insurance company decided to write it off as a total loss so I don't currently have a car. I am not going to enjoy car shopping. My first three cars were all the same make and model, just different years; the one that I just lost was my fourth car and it is the same make as the previous ones but they had discontinued the previous model so I had to get something different. Sigh. Now that model has been discontinued, too. I am not going to enjoy car shopping.

How well do you adapt to change?

Generally it makes me at least unhappy, and perhaps uncomfortable.

I try to structure my life to avoid change...except on rare, necessary, carefully chosen stuff.

That pretty much sums it up. I agree with Abe Lincoln: All change is not improvement. All movement is not forward.

We had wontons with Christmas dinner. First time that’s been on the menu. I’ve eaten wontons before, though, and am Not a restrictive picky eater so w/e nbd.

I’m going to have to shift gears in the new year to whole lot more work and exercise. Money is required to pay for things and I don’t want to become a soft fat f**k. I’ve made these changes before and will again reasonably well. Adjusting my sleep pattern (or lack of disciplined schedule is more like it) will be the hardest. Other than that I expect to be sore from work/exercise, but will reap the benefits of getting slimmer and stronger again.

Hopefully there’s also some artistic change next year, too. If the stars align maybe I’ll start getting a lot more tattoos in 2024.

I don't really do new things that often. I've been getting Meals on Wheels and I've enjoyed new dishes that I wouldn't think to cook. It's good to try new food. Once I use up my lime green yarn making Om Noms, I'm thinking of using different coloured yarns and making loom knit dolls. I tried underwear stuffed with towels. That's a new thing that didn't work. I guess that I was a little too eager to normalize what I thought I could about myself. I could try something new once I get a job and my first paycheque from that job and buy a pair of bellbottoms. They're in fashion right now, but how would they look with my helmet-like hats. Perhaps I should stick with the classic, tapered look. I could turn something old into something new and get myself back into Swinging London and The Kinks again. I don't think I'm ready for that sort of a change. There are lots of things to try. Some will work and some won't.
