This guy in BC launched a campaign on TikTok or something a couple years ago to test the waters on demand for a diesel-electric hybrid big rig and now he's built one for $1.5M and it's in testing before fine tuning & certifications required to allow them to be manufactured.

Figures hybrids are going to be far more practical for the trucking industry for a variety of reasons. I guess time will tell if he goes into production and we start seeing these hauling on the highways.

Currently listening to the 49min video while I procrastinate doing other things. Quite a few little innovations they've come up with that may all add up to a superior truck with lower operating costs.

Sounds like a not bad idea to me. Eighteen wheelers go long distance where they dont yet have those charging stations yet. So yeah. Why not?
