Is caesar salad healthy or the dressing is high in calories?

Salad dressings are usually high in calories and fats, especially if they are mayonnaise-based.

If you can find yoghurt-based dressings, they're much healthier for you.

Probably healthier homemade than store bought.

But really, overall how much dressing are you consuming on even a large serving of Caesar salad? Maybe 4 tablespoons or so.

I don’t really think Caesar salad dressing is a major high calorie health risk. Unless maybe you’re DROWNING your romaine lettuce in it and adding TONS of Parmesan cheese, then maybe it could pose a caloric intake problem if you were doing that daily..

But a once in a while caesar? Probably good for ya just to eat the greens & fibre, especially if you also squeeze a bit of fresh lemon on it And if there’s fresh garlic in it.

If you’re super concerned about having too many calories from salad dressing, simply go extra light on the dressing.. as in don’t use very much. If you’d normally coat your serving in 4 tablespoons of dressing, use less than 2 tablespoons and boom, fewer than half the calories to worry about.
