Anyone feeling 2000s nostalgia yet? According to the rule the 2020s shoulf be like the 2000s as the 2010s was to the 90s etc etc.

I am currently feeling it now

When I look at youtube and see videos I used to watch when they were new, they are now 10+ years old I feel sad.

Honestly, 2008-2012 was the best. Grovy music, good shows. Social media was just for s**tposting

I can't remember much from the early 2000s as I was too young. But I remember everyone seemed happier, calmer.

What does that even mean for a decade to be like another?

I keep the same clothes all my life.
I play the same music for years / decades.

The 2000's were my trauma decade so I'd rather not relive the events.

What is it that gets revisited?

Biggest trauma was in the 90s for me. Losing my grandmother and Lady Di in the same year

yeah, i feel it often. it was an alright decade overall. tech improving, politics showing signs of cracking, the last decade of good mainstream music, all that. the general culture elicits nostalgia for me, not one specific thing.

I don't really do nostalgia. I have to concentrate really hard to even remember what decade I'm in anyway.

There seems to be a phenomenon that nostalgia for a decade peaks 20 years after. The classic example of this, is that in the US in the 70s, they had a very popular show call Happy Days that was about being a teen in the 50s. Then in the 90s, they had a show called That 70s Show and you can guess what it was about.

On the US network Freeform there is a show called Cruel Summer which so far has had 2 series but both had to do with being a teen in the 90s. Big difference though. The previous 2 shows I mentioned portrayed the earlier decade as innocent and carefree. Cruel Summer not so much.

You have got to be kidding me, the early 2000s were terrible. 9/11 anyone? And then there was avian flu, swine flu, ebola, SARS, outbreaks of deadly food poisoning. I spent every day suffering horrible anxiety. I couldn't sleep or eat. I was in and out of the hospital many times.

The early 2000s were just a warm-up to how horrible things would get by 2020. I hate the human race, and I need to get some cyanide pills or helium for when the Earth is no longer blue because of nukes and climate change. Yeah I'm a doomer, but there are reasons why people are doomers.
