But he did the 'we're not gonna take it anymore song, so why isn't he on the liberal side that actually doesn't wanna take it anymore? The man disappoints me with this, at the very least though he doesn't allow trump to use that song. But I mean with the music video for the song you'd think he be maybe a bit more progressive than he is, due to the clothing choices in the video. BUt nah he is just as anti-trans as your racist uncle....i mean most people have at least one racist uncle I think. Or maybe that is just my messed up family.

I've only thought of it as anti-establishment in general.

I don't know anything about his political leanings now or before. The only thing I really recall about him was how anti-censorship he was back in the 80s. In some ways, back then it was a lot of religious/moral right wing types being haters with musicians and free speech...but it wasn't only them. Tipper Gore was a nightmare for a lot of musicians...just one left type off the top of my head. She wasn't the only one. Point being, I'd be surprised if he was ever leaning one way or the other. I never figured him for a left leaning type in the first place, just an anti-censorship dude. And he was a good one to speak on that. Back then anyhow. I'll give him that credit, for sure. I freakin loved that about him. As of now? I have no idea what he's up to these days, so I can't speak on that.

He was the vocalist for the hair metal band Twisted Sister, and one of the more popular songs they did was 'we're not gonna take it' which in the music video it depicted a teen rebelling against their overly-religious dad, who didn't approve of the kid listening to metal.

Yeah idk I just thought if he didn't like religious/moral right wing types interfering with expressive lyrics in music, he'd maybe lean more left. But idk maybe he has always been more of a libertarian type, which can skew to having somewhat more right wing views on some things.

He might have always transphobic but when ‘We’re not going to take it’ came out pretty much everyone was. Preferred Pronouns, 72 genders identities was basically not even thought about. If it is not recognized it is not hated.

Much more seemingly contradictory then ‘We’re Not Going Take It’ is that Twisted Sister like Kiss whose Paul Stanley also has come out against “trans ideology” presented as “gender benders”. A lot of the “gender bending” by rock bands during the ‘70s and ‘80s was about playing into teenagers resentment of parents. By that time loud music and drugs no longer shocked parents, “looking like a fag” did the trick. The kids were just as homo and transphobic as the parents they were shocking.
