The purpose of this thread is to share songs you loved from childhood (from early childhood through teens) and still have nostalgia for.

The more embarrassing the better!

Childhood?

My fave song in 1963 when I was eight was this. In fact mom and dad gave me the single on a little seven inch 45 vinyl (the first record I ever owned).

Yeah. "Puff" was a childhood fav of mine in elementary school. In fact our class sang it at a school event. We would practice it for some couple of weeks. Despite the urban legend "Puff" is NOT about smoking weed. Lol!

Eclectic is an understatement.

Yes. From the era when I was working as a party deejay (long after childhood).

That was part of a cool 90s R+B trend...reviving Fifties style vocal harmonizing and combining it with Nineties hip-hop. Hip-hop doo-wop.

Boyz-ii-Men were the most famous. But there a number of great guy groups (Soul-4-Real, Four PM, Az-Yet) and girl groups (SWV, Brownstone) in that vein back then.

In my Sixties pre teens I discovered both the Beatles, and at the same time...the last gasp of the big band era. But with a new Mariachi style twist. Herp Alpert and the Tijuana Brass.

Despite sounding a bit corny now...in an eastern seaboard winter -his old instrumental hits still make me feel like Im in a warmer drier climate.

Never on a Sunday ^





I had NO IDEA what it was that they should never do on a Sunday.

Imagine a bunch of little girls on stage in leotards and clacking tap shoes?

How .... wrong. (For lack of a better word ... )

Well...its "kiss" .Never "KISS me" on a Sunday. Except that "kiss" is a euphemism for...something else in the song
and the movie story it came from

Reminds me of hearing the song "Touch Me in the Morning" being sung by...the Jackson Five!

Beautiful singing and harmonies...but ...little kid voices singing "touch me in the morning".
