If there was a thread identical to this one, I couldn't find it.

The word must be ten letters long. Up to 4 letters from the previous word can be used to form the new word.

I'll start with complexity.

just read the rules for this - one has to change at least six letters, retaining maximum four? how viable is this? can't help wondering whether the originator meant 'change up to 4 letters'. what do other people think?

Going by his 9 Letter Word game, I figured he meant that we could change up to 4 in this one.

That's exactly what I thought - I noted that you'd retained 6 letters from babybird's word! Changing up to four letters would be in line with the 7/8 and 9 letter games and just the right number (3 would be too restrictive with 10-letter words). Changing 6 or more letters just doesn't work very well in my view, you would end up with little or nothing of the original word!

Not entirely happy with overriding the original poster's prescription, but still think it best for now to assume 'change up to 4 letters'.
