With college coming up I decided its time to quit World of Warcraft for awhile. I've been cutting back on game time ect. But I still find myself thinking of playing the game. Like what quest should I do when I get back, what gear should I get for my paladin ect. Having aspergers I know its probably that single minded obsession talking. I usually just switch Hobbies that has worked for me in the past, but this one is usually hard. Any one have any suggestions?

My friend had to get a girlfriend to quit WoW and I don't think that was any better for him.

I would just throw computers away in general.

WoW is a lifestyle.

I quit with simply not buying more game cards. Actually I had good reasons too, because I simply don't have enough time and/or money to play like I've played before.

Step 1: break your disc.

Step 2: cancel your subscription.

Step 3: buy a PS3 and The Elder Scrolls Oblivion.

quit cold turkey and don't go back to mmorpg's.

or massive rpg's in general....so you'll want to avoid elder scrolls too.

Hehe, my solution was to binge horribly for the last few days of my account so that I completely hated the game before I was done. :P By the end it felt like my wrist was falling off from spamming my warlock's attack spells over & over lol. That might not be a good idea for everyone though lol

EDIT: I dunno I used to think of myself as being 'hardcore' but I only played it for the free month taking my lock up to level 40ish, maybe getting a job IRL made me mature or something?

I never fell into the curse of WoW. I was at one point addicted to Warcraft 3. I forget when, but with the help of my parents, I quit. I don't even remember how it happened. Just one day, I quit, and never looked back.

But I can't really be one to talk. I'm still wildly addicted to other video games. That might take a lot more time to get over, as it has been an addiction of mine for my whole life.

I'd make the suggestion of not getting addicted in the first place.

Multiplayer rpgs are terrible for me. Even on them, I'm so socially out of whack I end up leaving after getting flamed anyway.
