I think plants have feelings. I think that all living things have feelings.

there is a book that came out in the early 70s called "the secret life of plants" which posits that plants have feelings, sentience.

so？Do we need to use electric shocks instead of kitchen knives to deal with food?

I don't think it's possible to have feelings without a brain, although I'm willing to change my mind if science provides convincing evidence to the contrary.
I'm considering becoming a vegetarian, but I can't cut plants out of my diet too. That would leave just mushrooms. Not really feasible.

If plants have feelings then it must be wrong to eat them, too. And then we won't be allowed to even eat fruits, vegetables or grains without being called a murderer. I can see the extreme vegetable rights groups right now, breaking into groceries stores and gardens and releasing all the produce into the wild, where it will become an invasive species and suck out all the nutrients in the ground that the wild plants need. And then they'll be forcing their pets that are natural herbivores, like rabbits, guinea pigs and horses, to eat a plastic diet since eating any living thing is wrong and I don't know what else they can eat.
