I came out last year and sans for one friend, I am struggling to meet autistic folks who are gay (especially younger folks). Does anyone else have this issue? I am active in a number of community activities like church and liberal politics, but am having trouble meeting folks.

Oddly though, I know more autistic folks in the local trans community.

A lot of transgenders are in the middle of transition from one gender to another with the assist of hormones.
Everything is all messed up!
Much lower expectations regarding social norms makes it easier to them to socialize among themselves.

Here’s whatcha gotta do: (1) Dress like an ordinary salaryperson; (2) Hang out, unaccompanied, in places where a lot of ‘straight’ people with autism seem to hang out; and (3) Behave the way that most ‘straight’ people with autism seem to behave.

Sooner or later, an LGBTQ+ person will approach you and try to chat you up.  It happens.
