I feel like an old man looking at a Sex Pistols t-shirt being sold in Tesco.

I just meant that how I feel when I see a trailer for a modern doom game must be how those guys feel. Something from their youth that felt kind of counterculteral, cutting-edge and dangerous, slicked up and repackaged for the mainstream.

I'm old now and it's not for me any more. :skull:

^ The most recent Doom games are good, but not the masterpieces that the original two were. I think for some people that is enough for them to want to play the newer editions.

I'm sure they're good games. I did try to play one, but as I say, it's not for me any more.

Perhaps if my mum told me i wasn't allowed to play it, then I'd be more interested. It worked with the first one.

More to say.

I'm glad the franchise has been fully embracing its Heavy Metal influence these past several years. It first began with the soundtrack of the original games being sampled from songs by Metallica, Pantera, S.O.D., Alice in Chains, Slayer and more.

This new game is like a 3 Inches of Blood song come to life and I'm all for it.
