Annihilation was one of the most unsettling, unique and awesome sci-fi horror movies I've ever seen. That one scene with the bear who screamed with a human voice was pretty disturbing in theatres. It was unreal and definitely one I would highly recommend! I don't watch too much scifi-horror but the one I would definitely recommend is the original 1982 "The Thing" by John Carpenter. Love the characters too and it's just pure disturbing on a visceral other level and I can't ever rewatch it because of it. It's awesome.

Considering their age I was impressed with the Phantasm series although I haven't yet seen 3 & 4.
They seem unavailable from streaming services and I haven't yet found somewhere I trust to download them from.

I thought of it as an updated Color Out Of Space, but with chicks. And that's not a criticism.

The Lost Boys (1987)
9 (2009)
Re-Animator (1985)
Dark City (1998)
Donnie Darko (2001)
The Thing (1982)
All of the Alien movies.
Specifically, Alien: Resurrection (1977) because I don't understand why people don't like it.

David Cronenberg certainly knows how to mess with people;
Videodrome is no exception, just a great movie.
