Any advice on how to prevent blanking out? I have been trying to complete a piece of written work for months. I start it, become confused, blank out, take time away, return (with ever more reluctance) work for a couple of days, realise I am on the wrong track, blank out and freak out more. How can I break free of this cycle? I need to complete the work to return to my course?

Maybe scaffold the writing to break it down into smaller chunks?
Try speech to text?
I have to print out research material and highlight and number before writing.
I can't seem to do it from screens.
Work in short bursts?
Maybe set a timer so you get a bit of adrenaline happening?
Reward yourself when you achieve each chunk.

Can you get clarification from someone for whatever is confusing you?
It would be helpful to know what the writing is for.

Hey, let me know when you find the answer to this! I do the same s**t

On a slightly more serious note, though...

One possible method is using a timer. Set it for a short amount of time, in which you write like the wiiiind. Then take a 15 minute break. And keep at it with the timer until you're satisfied.
