I have always known I was much different from the masses so I have not hesitated to take a contrarian's view of things like news, history, the stock market. Is this common? I sometimes think I am drawn to a position just because it runs counter to what the mainstream believes. I also know that because I read news from non US sources I really question the news as it is given to Americans in America.

Does this sound familiar to many of you?

yes, I tend to do or think the opposite. It makes sense somehow, attracts a lot of disapproval but it feels right. Maybe our real planet is a mirror world where everything is opposite, or something. I like a good conspiracy theory too.

I'm aussie and NT. I don't blame you for questioning the news as given to Americans.

We have a multicultural station here which is being accused of 'dumbing down' lately. It has the best news programme, especially for international news.

I've gone off topic, but I saw the word 'paranoid' and I smiled. I have met an aspie who confesses his paranoia. (Are you lurking there Mr Paranoia? You know who you are!)

No one mentioned the word "paranoid". That is not at all what I am talking about here.

She identified as NT, what can you expect? I thought it was inappropriate, but that's NTs for you.

They say you can explain alot of strange things either with a conspiracy of people or stupidity of people. I tend to think stupidity is the most common explanation.

Yep , although I dont think the whole Federal Reserve thing is a conspiracy theory its more a gigantic scam that people are too blind to work out ... I prefer to believe in conspiracy theories that are true.

Lets add MKUltra , oh and "testing of radioactive material/viruses/bacteria on unknowing members of the public 1948-1976" to the mix.

There are a lot about the titanic , Im not sure if I believe any of them but the ones about it being a massive insurance fraud do at least fit with our understanding of human nature and greed.

I like some of the conspiracy theories but some of them are too silly for words. Why hasn't anyone mentioned Diana's death and the moon landings yet?

As for AS sufferers following these, maybe. The X Files had a big fanbase amongst the AS community and this programme tought us to question everything.

I would expect that anyone posting true information on the internet concerning a valid conspiracy would soon be visited by representatives of said conspiracy, and their tinfoil hat would be confiscated forthwith...

My apartment walls have carbon-metal undercoat, and the curtains are a silver/nylon EMF shielding fabric, so the jokes on them! :D

the foil-hat is just a decoy ;)
