Well... I'll just say Conservative Socialist Democrat.

Socially- Slightly right wing Socialist strongly in support of certain state schemes and social justice, though allowing for certain individual freedoms whilst being compassionate and protective of citizens up to a certain point. Less nanny state and excessive welfare schemes, collaboration with various organisations to achieve goals. Rich people get to remain rich, and even if you're working class, there are basic work schemes which crack down on the source of most theft.

Economically- Free Market with safety net and regulations to protect the consumer. And of course the state healthcare and education systems, plus welfare. Progressive tax system which is fair to everyone. Various financial initiatives, both for new companies and corporations.

i voted elitist - seems most logical to me to let those rule who are most able. also, i strongly dislike all concepts of socialism, as well as the notion that democratic choice automatically ensures the best possible result.

The form of communism that was adopted under both Mao and Lenin wasn't even close to Marx's idea of Utopian socialism/communism anyway. In Mao's China and Lenin's Russia, the state ended up taking everything from not only the aristocracy, but from the poor as well, where I think Marx meant that the rich and poor were meant to be on equal footing, sharing all the wealth.

Still, anything would have to be better than some of the fools we have in power (except for totalitarianism).

I couldn't vote. I would be willing to support almost any of the forms of government you have listed, as long as they are "pure," that is, in keeping with the original ideology of said system of government. Socialism, communism, anarcho-capitalism, fascism, republic. Any of these are good if they stick to their original principles. If forced to choose I would go either with a Socialist state with free health care and eductaion through PhD for all who are qualified, or a light Republic with little to no state control over anything, with a strong free market. Opposite ideologies, I know, but either one would work. It's just when we try to pull off this "let's-get-the-best-of-both-worlds" crap and filthy bureaucracies that everything gets so screwed up. I also could go for elitism/technocracy, or what Plato argued for with the concept of philosopher-kings (though today we would have to have different philosopher-king's for every aspect of government- economist to decide tax laws, doctor to decide workings of health-care system, etc.). Paramount in the issue is honesty, if a dictator calls themselves such I have much less of a problem with it. Which is why I actually have more respect for Stalin than I do for W. Also people must have their rights and freedoms, and be able to criticize the government without having to worry about getting thrown into the concentration camps/Gulag/FEMA camps. Which is why I still have very little respect for Stalin.
I say America should spend the next ten years in a heated debate over what kind of government we should have- bar nothing from consideration, even military dictatorship should be discussed as an option- and then decide what system we're going to go with, and do it. If it comes out that America wants to be Communist, I'm cool with that. If we decide on a direct democracy or rule by unelected elites, I'm fine wiht that, too. Just stop pretending to have a system of government that doesn't really exist.

really, i'm not entirely libertarian...but i'm more of a "what works best" sort of guy.

really, the most perfect government would be more along the lines of a democratic socialist scheme but that requries a population that is both well educated and involved in all levels of politics as far as what goes on and what gets done.

and in america, people are too lazy (both physically and intellectually) to do so much work (most people can't even be hassled to read real news). so...libertarian would work best to whip the masses of lazy into shape or weed them out.

it's not that any one form of government is perfect...it's more what government is needed for what situation.

I disagree Americans are hardworking and have a strong drive. I am sure that they have a higher percentage of aspies, Mr Motivators, and people driven by money. UK have to many chavs and bad boys.

Anarchy. Technically speaking, anarchy and socialism are the same. Anarchy literally means "without leaders", not "without order".

Real feudalism. I don't care what's at
the top, it's the beauty of the hierarchical
structure which is important.
