going behind the building @ work

Wednesday, right before lunch, my supervisor had the nerve to tell me to talk to her after my lunch. After lunch, she said that "it has come to my attention that you have been walking behind the building." She asked me why. Told her sometimes there are carts and I push them to the front. She told me not to go there unless someone tells me to go there, and that the managers will push the carts to the front. So I said "ok". She said "thank you". Did not get made redundant.

However, been going behind the building @ least once per shift, since December 2021. During that time, went through five supervisors and this is the first one that said anything about it. Some managers, such as Javier, Don, Dave, store manager CG, ASM DS, saw me behind the building and noone ever said anything.

micromanagement makes me wanna puke. but, @ home depot, my jurisdiction is still much bigger than @ almost any other job. the parking lot is bigger than the rest of the store combined. so wtf ever. also, hate the walkie talkies. last friday, the head cashier called me seven times in one hour. sometimes, an entire day goes by with zero calls.

constantly paranoid of getting made redundant. even though almost nobody in the building wears masks, i wear a mask. i'm afraid to do or say something that will get me made redundant. i'm afraid someone will misunderstand my actions or statements and tattle on me, or altogether make up something and tattle on me. i'm afraid a customer will make something up and tell the boss and get me made redundant. maybe the boss is "in" with the customer. everyone has subconscious biases. "at will" employer. any old monkey could do my job. before the current dumpsterfire "job", the job before that was over four years earlier. got made redundant plenty of times. unemployable. and i do not just stand around talking and on the phone, like other employees, esp lot attendants.

been working there since december 2020. that is longer than all the other lot attendants that have worked there since that time, with the exception of two of them.

zero write ups they still do not trust be to do the slightest thing, s**t.

Do not worry about it.

They apparently don't think anything in your job description requires you to go around back, and doing something you weren't told to do is probably as bad as doing something you were told not to do. So don't do it.

waste hours on end standing around talking or on the phone

update:

last week, a new head cashier (she's only been there about 2 months) explicitly told me that sometimes there are carts behind the building and i was supposed to go get them.

so i told her the supervisor told me not to do that, but i used to do that.

she said she's going to talk to the supervisor.

home depot is not going to tell me anything in writing, there is going to be a "miscommunication" and i am going to get made redundant as a result.

but WTF ever, b/c "at will" employer.

Sorry for the excitement. I remember you from times gone by and I was pleased to see you here.

Not happy to see this situation. I do think it does sound like the Milton situation from Office Space. I mean, obviously, it sounds to me like you are going behind the building to get away from people for a few minutes, with the side reason of getting the carts. Anyone who has ever worked at a store with carts has known this is the perk for working in the parking lot. Does this other manager just not like you or something?

Have you disclosed? You keep saying "made redundant" so I'm assuming you are in the UK. If you have disclosed that you have autism can you make them give you something in writing saying if you are or are not supposed to get the carts? You could do that in the US, but I don't know about other countries.

have not watched "office space", or, watched and forgot. what's it about?

the current supervisor, Angela W, has not shown any indication that she does not like me. however, maybe she doesn't like me and i failed to notice the signs. maybe her acting skills are better than my nonverbal communication interpretation skills. i do not know.

united states, not united kingdom. have not disclosed autism. officially diagnosed age 21. now 41. I'm a Lot Attendant. pushing carts: an essential job function. i have nothing against pushing carts. pushing carts has nothing to do with autism, that i know of.

however, i do have a doctor's note that i am not allowed to lift over fifty pounds. the job description says "lift fifty pounds", but the assistant manager said that i had to get a doctor's note, to protect the company. which i do not understand or agree with or like, but "at will" employer, so I followed directions and got a doctor's note.
