As I may have said in another thread before, I do like to meet new people and like to socialise even at work with other staff and customers but at home or wherever in my own time, I feel as though I'm some reclusive weirdo sometimes and feel that way sometimes when I've been on dating sites.

I seem to think I find myself enjoying other things in my own leisure time and yet I complain that I feel like I'm the only one not using dating apps and things actively that I feel like a lot of other people because I maybe don't always have the time or I don't get round to it despite an inner voice telling me to just do it then if I'm feeling lonesome and continue doing other things. I keep telling myself to stop feeling bad about doing other things I enjoy doing other than using dating sites but I still feel as though I'm ''wasting life chances and opportunities'' not using dating sites on a regular basis.

It feels as though its very easy or simple to just say to someone to ''get out there'' if you are feeling lonesome and frustrated that you are not meeting other people because I know no body is going to knock on my front door and ask to go out with them. But the thing is with me, I can't find many meetup groups that interest me and I won't go into a noisy pub or bar on my own to meet someone of a Saturday night as it's never really been my scene. So it feels as though there is no other choice, when it comes to meeting people it feels like either it's that or nothing and that to not do that you'll remain single.

I also seem to feel that when I've been on dating sites, I get not very many likes or views or messages from people and I hear stories about sites like Tinder and so on just for people to hook up and have sex rather than trying to get together for a romantic date and that makes me contemplate deleting or unsubscribing from the sites.

I’ve never used a dating app. I wouldn’t feel comfortable using them, but they obviously work for some people. Everyone is different. There’s nothing wrong with trying something, deciding you don’t like it, and moving on to something else or a different app.

I’ll say it again and again. The men who get dates from dating apps are the men who can get dates in real life. If you can’t get a date in real life, likely the apps will be a frustrating experience.

That may be mostly true BUT there are some exceptions

Without utilizing the dating app Ok Cupid I highly doubt my neighbor Glenn would be married right now!

He is an old man with a long beard and kinda heavy

No offense to him but that isn't the type of man that women would be begging to date and marry

Some people can only get dates through online apps

Did someone mention big old guys with beards?

I beg to differ.

As for dating apps, I've never used one.
YMMV, so you won't know unless you try.

Not me. It's no different than IRL, which is a mashup of Match.com and TruthSocial.

I've never actually used dating apps but I've looked at them and it was dismal. On one popular app (I think it might have been eHarmony) there wasn't one man in my age group who was not politically conservative, which is an automatic no from me.

Generally dating apps are usually characterized as being much more appearance based than in real life. I have never used one so I don't know, but that is what most videos related to this topic seem to indicate.

One of the very good things of being in relationship is not to have to go through these apps anymore.

A few weeks back I closed all my dating app accounts.
My friend tells me that ALL my profiles are still there and listed active until selected.

I have NEVER downloaded any online dating apps

I was going to because I was so frustrated that my search for love and my future husband wasn't progressing the way I wanted it to but now that I have found David there is no longer any real need for online dating!! !

Had I decided to download any dating apps they would have the well-known ones like OK Cupid, Match, Tinder, e-Harmony etc

I also had a Facebook Dating profile with a few interested men but that was short-lived and I deleted it!
