I just got a disturbing private mail:

I'm really hoping this is just random spam, because if it's a real message, this is from an absolute predator! My wife only just leftt me this morning (temporarily I might add!) and already someone's trying to hoodwink me!

Please let it be spam....

C'mon.... we're sensible adults here, right? We're supposed to be average-to-gifted in intelligence!

I received it too. And I also deleted it immediately - it seemed like blatant spam.

i did not, but I must say thats a pretty rough love letter, haha.

I got it too. I knew it was spam immediately, and I don't like it that someone is trying to take advantage of us, that really ticks me off..

I frequently get messages just like that on dating sites and on Myspace.

Wow, we've had some weird s--- going on around here lately...

...spelling errors and the usage of language...choppy, like someone from a foreign country....confessions of true love at first site, marriage proposals.

It's spam, but then the first message from my girlfriend in reply to my excite.com advert was:

I am not from UK but would like to meet. Is this OK?

Seven years later we are still together.

I didn't get it.

I can be fun to play around with those spammers though. Whenever one asks me for say my address ad phone number, I give the name,address, and work phone of some random sherriff. Not exactly the person you should be sending request for bank account info to.

Sounds like a mail order bride solicitation. Look at it from that perspective, get a laugh or two, then delete it.

sounds like a 419 scammer to me, it;s consistant, but no matter what it is, it's spam and should be deleted
