I've used TTC and GO Trains before.

I've been on a few different trains. I think they're the most comfortable way to travel.

In 2002 I travelled on a shinkansen (bullet train) in Japan. The train was fast, going at a speed of over 300km/h at times.

It was clean and comfortable, unlike our local trains here in Perth.

I've been on two different trains. Those rides were the most fun I've ever had. I love trains.

Trains can be nice but it really depends on who you end up stuck with sometimes. I felt uncomfortable last time I went on a train because there were no seats, so I ended up standing next to a bunch of people who were making awkward jokes and judgemental comments about me which wasn't great.

Usually though it can be a nice way to travel.

My bride and I have made two long trips via train.

1. East coast U.S. to west coast, then west coast to east coast via Canadian rail.
2. NE U.S. to Florida...then back.

We got private compartments on the train.

Both trips were nice! Food was surprisingly good.

To-and-from Florida I, the husband, not surprisingly got the upper bunk. The train's side-to-side shaking made it a bit awkward.

Though, overall, I liked that mode of travel.

Overall, however, I liked it. A nice way to make a long trip.

I did once when I was around 11 or 12 years old. That was back when we actually still had trains where I live, but they closed the system down not long after that. It was on a school field trip and since I was a still kid and it was my first and only time riding a real train, it was pretty fun and exciting.

Now I haven't even taken the bus anywhere in like forever.

I used to travel on British Rail from Reading to Liverpool every few weeks in the early 1990's using my young persons railcard. £25 for a return. Also sometimes went weekend first class for £3 extra. Nice :D

I used to fairly regularly - if you don't have a car, it's the only reasonable way of getting from city to city here. It can be really enjoyable if it's not too busy, but very stressful if travelling through rush hour. This Friday I'll be taking the train for the first time since 2019!
