This is a photo of me from 2001 aged 12. When I show my friends it they say I look 16.

Do you think I look more mature than my age in the photo?

Neither. It just means you look more like a kid than a man in that picture, which seems appropriate for the age you were when it was taken.

My teacher described me as a “Handsome lad” when I was 12.

I’d say you look like a ballet dancer. That’s a compliment. You look strong and healthy.
