A lot of Dystopian Fiction centers around living in a world where people are oppressed in some way and fed propaganda that forces the idea down their throats that life is good when really it isn't.

Domestic Dystopia is just focused on the home. Children grow up in a home that doesn't feel like home due to neglectful parental guardians who are abusive in one or more categories. Normally the kid is saved by some Fairy Godmother or an opportunity to go on some magical whimsical adventure, but then the Dystopia is left behind and the story barely counts as such.

What if there was no Fairy Godmother or an escape into a fantasy to rescue the kid? What if the kid had to put up with his or her own childhood being put through literal Hell until:
A) The Parental Guardian decides to murder the kid.
B) The cops are called.
C) The kid turns 18, runs away, and never looks back?

Thoughts?
