Now that the 2024 election has passed, to me, the destruction of the USA is nearing completion. Over the past few years, I’m seeing parallels between the destruction of ancient Israel and the USA. Worse yet,
Trump’s election reminds me of what I went through over 60 years ago with my father’s attittudes. I went the entire gamut living with a narcissist.

I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that this could be the end of the US.

I would say that it's fairly likely that it is the end of the US as we know it. With stuff like Project 2025 combined with Trump's talk of going after his enemies, it's fair to speculate that we're going down a dark road that could end up being like Russia (where elections are not real, where actual opposition politicians or even people speaking in opposition get taken out. MMW, the right would still claim that they're free speech while taking out people for speaking out. This is exactly the kind of Orwellian nonsense I'm used to from them) and could end up being a theocracy which would knock us way down in so many metrics.

As for if the empire collapses, there is civil war, etc. I don't know about that. If the people voted for this monster, I can't see the latter happening. I mean, what are the state governments going to fight over? Will a blue state really fight with the federal government over cutting funding because they legalize abortion? TBH, I see the blue states throwing our rights under the bus before causing any such tension. Both scenarios are scary and not at all out of the realm of possibility...

I am glad I have a home in the Philippines.

As usually, Americans are incredibly slow to learn. They've made their death bed, now they have to die in it.

I think that we will survive. I don't know that Conservatism can, though. There is, after all, nothing Conservative about Trump and his ilk.

How far that is depends on whether the MAGA party can retain control of the House of Representatives. That is still up in the air as of this writing.

Remember, last time Trump won he did almost none of what he promised. When he was running in 2016 he promised he would balance the budget. Didn't do it.

If he tries to do his agenda he will face heavy push back from Republicans in farm states that rely on Mexican labor.

I say go for it - I want him to do the full agenda. I also want R's to face the blowback when Americans complain about higher food costs and consumer goods costs.
